Magical Moment 417, "Last Minute Decision"

When my friends or family come to me for advice, I have two "go-to" replies. I decided I should get the sayings needle-pointed on a pillow some day.
When a question begins with the words, "Should I..." I usually reply with, "Follow your heart."
When a question begins with the words, "How do I..." I usually reply with, "Google it."

I mean think about it. Should I take this new job? Should I switch my major? Should I spend the day cleaning the house or taking the kids to the park? Should I get a new dog? Should I break up with this guy?
Follow your heart. Your heart, your conscience, your voice inside your head, your cartoon cricket named Jiminy. Whatever it is inside you that tells you right and wrong, follow that. You can't go wrong!

How do I get to your house? How do I make tuna noodle casserole? How do I re-cover my furniture? How do I learn Spanish? How do I fix my sink?
Google it. Thank God for the internet. I google everything from how to change my guitar strings, to how to train my dog.

I've been trying to take my own advice lately with this whole Law School thing. Should I, or shouldn't I? I even googled it. Yep. I typed in the words, "Should I go to Law School?" Then I watched the screen in anticipation, waiting for the answer to appear like a magic 8 ball. And for the first time, Google wasn't very helpful. As for my heart, it's getting pulled in every direction, so I find that pretty unreliable as well. I've separated skittles into "Pros" and "Cons" piles. Flipped quarters. And asked random people their opinions. Prayed and looked for signs. And I still have no idea. The kicker is, I have to mail a check by tomorrow morning. How's that for a last minute decision?!

I think tonight may be a restless night's sleep. If only I had a comfy pillow. With some helpful advice needle-pointed on it for me to follow!

Oh I do not envy you such a tough decision. My dad used to say...write out the Pros and Cons and see which one wins.
Some things google can't master....heart decisions are one of them. What does your hubs say?
Wish I had advice...but I'll cheer you on regardless of any decision:)

Good common-sense answers ! And yes, the internet and Google are simply wonderful tools - all kinds of info, intelligent comparison shopping, online banking ... etc, etc.

As for the law school decision, what's the worst that could happen ? Over 90% of our worries never materialize, so don't agonize !

Am I too late?

How about Proverbs 3:5-6? Those verses have served me well, throughout my married life of 23 years.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.

I spell it all out in prayer: the facts, my doubts, my worries, the pros, the cons, and then, I ask for divine wisdom, and a sense of the peace of the Holy Spirit once I have arrived at the decision that I need.

God has faithfully honored those prayers through the years.
Thank you Dawn, Linda, Rick, and Susan for your thoughts and advice. It absolutely means the world and helped me a great deal. :)

So... What did you decide?
I was wondering that, too, Eddie. :)
Ha ha. Thanks Eddie. Yes, I mailed a deposit in this morning. :)

Magical Moment 620, "Lilac Garden"

Eddie and I visited the Lilac Gardens at Ringwood Manor in New Jersey, a pristine and beautiful state park with 8 species of lilacs and several varieties within. We went on a rainy afternoon, which turned out perfect because the rain stopped for us when we got there, and began again as soon as we left. It also decorated the plants with gorgeous rain drops, adding to their beauty.  And now for a quick game of "Where's Elizabeth?" And "Where's Eddie?" ~~Have a great weekend! ~~

Magical Moment 625, "Thailand - the Elephants"

Needless to say, my favorite part of our Thailand vacation, was our week long volunteering at  Elephant Nature Park ! The logging industry was banned in Thailand in 1989, leaving thousands of elephants unemployed. These elephants are now used for tourism. You may have heard of elephant shows featuring the animals playing soccer or painting pictures with their trunks. They are no doubt amazing to watch, but the sad truth is that these elephants have gone through a series of torture and abuse to "break their spirit" by their trainers. This short clip is very hard to watch, but it will give you an idea of what the elephants in captivity in the country of Thailand go through. The only elephants in Thailand who do  not  endure this, are the very few baby elephants who are first generation born in "safe captivity" at places like Elephant Nature Park. Every other elephant at this park has been brutally abused. Some have been blinded by their owners, le

Magical Moment 606, "Thank You Canada!"

After an intense week as a participant in the  Musician's Mentorship Program  with Canada's National Ballet School in Toronto, I am back in the good ol' US of A. The trip was a success, not only did I learn a TON in the program, but I got to see Canada for the first time, increasing my number of countries visited to 3! (Mexico and South Korea, if you're wondering about the other 2). I was surrounded by incredibly talented musicians who didn't hesitate to dish out their best advice, tips, and secrets to me. In addition, I was surrounded by some beautiful scenery and amazing sights. The trip got even better when Eddie flew out to meet me half way through the week, and even BETTER when I was able to meet up with a friend, known only through the blogosphere until now. Yes ladies and gentlemen,  Hilary of The Smitten Image  herself happens to live only minutes from where I resided in Toronto. I admit, it was a little like meeting a celebrity. I first "met" Hi
