Magical Moment 534, "The Enchanted Bus Ride"

I watched a little girl on the bus. For her, the ride was a new adventure.
For me, it was a routine inconvenience.

To pass the time, she played with her stuffed animals, a polka dotted kitten and princess bear.
I scanned e-mails on my phone as I fought off motion sickness.

Her feet hovered above the floor as she sat. She swung her legs back and forth, holding them out in front of her for a moment as she admired her pretty, glittery shoes...the ones that maybe belonged to her Halloween costume, but she convinced her mom to let her wear them out.

My feet ached and I longed to kick my heels off throw them into a river.

She pointed out the window to the flashing lights up ahead in the road. Exciting, like on TV.

I inwardly groaned at the thought of another traffic hold up.

She nearly burst with nervous glee when it came time to push the "stop" button. She smiled proudly when it lit up and chimed for all the bus to hear. But it wasn't the correct stop after all.
"Oops, two more for us," Her mother explained.

I leaned forward in my chair and tapped her shoulder.
"Would you like to push the next stop for me?"
She nodded vigorously, then waited for just the right second to push the button.

"Thank you very much," I nodded goodbye as I made my way down the aisle,
feet killing me and cell phone in hand.
I exited the bus and walked the block home, thinking about the little girl
who got to push the button 3 times that day.

That was an enchanted bus ride! So nice of you to make the little girls ride more enjoyable...

And don't you wish we could see life through the same eyes? I wonder if we once did...I'm SURE we did.
We need to walk barefoot by the lake tonight......and then throw our cell phones out to sea;))

To see the world through a child's eyes gave that little girl her own magical moment!

Magical Moment 620, "Lilac Garden"

Eddie and I visited the Lilac Gardens at Ringwood Manor in New Jersey, a pristine and beautiful state park with 8 species of lilacs and several varieties within. We went on a rainy afternoon, which turned out perfect because the rain stopped for us when we got there, and began again as soon as we left. It also decorated the plants with gorgeous rain drops, adding to their beauty.

And now for a quick game of "Where's Elizabeth?"
And "Where's Eddie?"
~~Have a great weekend! ~~

Hello my blogosphere friends! I would like to wish you all a very happy New Year!
I would also like to share with you a video that I made over the Holidays so that you can catch up with my sweet Sprout and happy Jay Bird. Sprout will turn 3 in February and Jay Bird just passed 18 months! We are very happy in Atlanta and have recently settled into a new home. I'm truly wishing you all happiness, peace, and joy. This may be difficult to do at times, but it is certainly made easier surrounded by loved ones.

Peace my friends!

Magical Moment 420, "The Critter Awards"

I'm nearly 28 and I still love to go to the zoo - even with no nieces or nephews to use as an excuse. I went to the Turtle Back Zoo in NJ with Eddie today. It was cold and rainy, but I thought I'd take the opportunity to have fun snapping photos of my favorite critters.
The Happiest Critter award goes to: Cassie the Sea Otter This is Cassie's first nomination as she is a new addition to the zoo. She thanks her parents for making her so cute, and the zoo keepers for feeding her and keeping her energy up to entertain the guests.
The Most Hypnotizing Critter award goes to: The Sea Horse The Sea Horse was also nominated for Brightest Critter.
The Brightest Critter award goes to: The Blue Fish The Blue Fish and the Sea Horse are considered rivals in many aspects, but personally maintain a good friendship. "We work together in our goal to inspire awe in our spectators," said the Blue Fish.
The Best Dressed Critter award goes to: The Peacock The Peacock has won this award sever…
