Magical Moment 267, "The Strings!"

It's been a while since I posted my progress of recording an EP/album with Modern Vintage Recordings. Today I would use one word to describe today's meeting...amazing. We recorded the strings and bass for "A Builder," and when we played it back, I actually got chills. The song now has life and magic oozing out of it. It will truly be one of the most powerful tracks on the EP.

This day is what every songwriter dreams of. The day when their "creation" comes alive...like Frankenstein. I wrote this song with just piano and only imagined the strings and other instruments in my mind. It's a relief to have wonderful producers who understand what I describe, and then make it happen. Now all the power, emotion, and beauty I dreamed for this track is well in place.

Here is a short video. First you'll see my producer, Eshy, tracking the bass. Then you'll hear just the strings play back. Again with the disclaimer - final vocal track is still a ways down the road, so try not to let my current vocals ruin the magic for you. Can you feel the magic? Can you?!?!

Magical Moment 620, "Lilac Garden"

Eddie and I visited the Lilac Gardens at Ringwood Manor in New Jersey, a pristine and beautiful state park with 8 species of lilacs and several varieties within. We went on a rainy afternoon, which turned out perfect because the rain stopped for us when we got there, and began again as soon as we left. It also decorated the plants with gorgeous rain drops, adding to their beauty.

And now for a quick game of "Where's Elizabeth?"
And "Where's Eddie?"
~~Have a great weekend! ~~

Magical Moment 634, "Old Toy Trains"

Hello my blogosphere friends! I would like to wish you all a very happy New Year!
I would also like to share with you a video that I made over the Holidays so that you can catch up with my sweet Sprout and happy Jay Bird. Sprout will turn 3 in February and Jay Bird just passed 18 months! We are very happy in Atlanta and have recently settled into a new home. I'm truly wishing you all happiness, peace, and joy. This may be difficult to do at times, but it is certainly made easier surrounded by loved ones.

Peace my friends!
Love, Beth, Eddie, Sprout, and Jay Bird (Ricky and Elan)

Magical Moment 420, "The Critter Awards"

I'm nearly 28 and I still love to go to the zoo - even with no nieces or nephews to use as an excuse. I went to the Turtle Back Zoo in NJ with Eddie today. It was cold and rainy, but I thought I'd take the opportunity to have fun snapping photos of my favorite critters.
The Happiest Critter award goes to: Cassie the Sea Otter This is Cassie's first nomination as she is a new addition to the zoo. She thanks her parents for making her so cute, and the zoo keepers for feeding her and keeping her energy up to entertain the guests.

The Brightest Critter award goes to: The Blue Fish The Blue Fish and the Sea Horse are considered rivals in many aspects, but personally maintain a good friendship. "We work together in our goal to inspire awe in our spectators," said the Blue Fish.
